The History of Faith Church
Faith
United
Methodist
Church
started as a vision of a few United Methodists, who lived in the
North West
area of
Bradenton
and the
Manatee
County beaches.
In 1985 a piece of
property was donated and in 1986 work began towards the development of a
new church. During the
summer of 1986, small groups met in people’s homes and gathered for
events. The first worship service was held on September 7th,
1986 at the
Palma
Sola
Elementary School
"cafetorium".
On February 8th,
1987 the church was chartered and the first election was held for the
church leaders and the building committee.
Ground was broken on
May 22, 1988
, and construction began on a multi-purpose building in which to meet.
The building was first occupied on
June 11, 1989
.
