Faithful Mission Opportunities

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   The mission of Faith Church is To Lead people to Jesus, To Grow as his followers and To Serve the church and community. Opportunities to reach into our community to serve and volunteer are numerous. In the next few months we will introduce these agencies in Bradenton that need faithful help. We would like to “make Faith felt” in our community by sharing ourselves and our gifts through giving, collecting items, or volunteering our time and expertise.
FAITHFUL MISSION OPPORTUNITIES:
SERVANTS OF CHRIST HANDS AND FEET MINISTRY
   Recently, members of Faith Church visited Servants of Christ Hands and Feet Ministry.  This ministry is new and steeped with desire to connect with “Mission Partners” – mission minded churches. Servants of Christ officially opened in October 2009 with an 8,000 sq. ft. warehouse and offices where they accumulate and distribute food, clothing, paper goods, furniture, appliances, tools, automobiles and trucks. They also provide mechanical services for autos and trucks, air-conditioning, electrical, and plumbing needs at reduced costs or by volunteer work; a way of giving back what Christ has “sown”.
   As Servants of Christ Hands and Feet Ministry works toward obtaining their non-profit certification, Faith Church has offered to share our financial services as a conduit until their non-profit status is complete. Currently they are partnered with four churches and several local businesses and non-profit organizations. Their needs include volunteers to help sort and organize donations, and individuals with time to coordinate services. Soon you will see their logo in our bulletin along with a volunteer sign-up sheet listing opportunities for you to help.
   Twelve Baskets Ministry, a part of the Servants of Christ Ministry, collects food and household items on a monthly basis. Alphabetically by last name, church members are assigned one type of food or household item to collect during their weekly trip to the grocery.  Servants of Christ Ministry accept clothing and other donations at their warehouse at 6336 17th St. Cir. E., Bradenton.  If you have donations that are too large to transport contact them at 727-4800. Persons desiring to volunteer may call the agency to learn about various opportunities.
We are excited about this opportunity to “make Faith felt”.
   In the future we will be sharing information on other mission opportunities within our community: The One Stop Center, Our Daily Bread, Manatee Religious Services, SOLVE, Family Promise, JOY Ministries, SHARE, Manasota ARC, and Meals on Wheels are just a few.  If you know of other non-profit organizations that could use our help, contact Janet Holmes through the church office.
